CONTENT

Develop your canoeing skills and confidence on grade 2 rivers whilst you tour some of Scotland’s classic rivers. You’ll build your repertoire of strokes; setting you up to really accelerate the canoe or to change direction without losing all your speed. Whether you’re a solo or a tandem paddler, over the course of the week you’ll increase your understanding of rivers, finding just the right speed and angle to allow the water to do the work for you.

You’ll usually be in a group of no more than six with one instructor. We’re likely to paddle several sections of the Spey, along with perhaps the Ness, Tay, Findhorn, Lochy or Oich.

On the river we’ll be able to spend time developing your personal paddling, along with poling and perhaps lining. We’ll pick up on the key safety and rescue skills that set us up to avoid problems, but also to deal with them if they do arise.
