IS IT FOR ME?

If you’re an Advanced Sea Kayak Leader who’s completed Core Coach Training and you’re looking to become a Sea Kayak Coach (Advanced Water) then this is the course for you.

CONTENT

This non-residential, two day course takes the content from the BC Core Coach Training and applies it in advanced sea conditions. The course looks at the range of different topics we might need to coach. We can think about setting tasks and observing to choose what to coach. We’ll look at how to get the most from the environment; developing skills in simple places before testing them in the conditions. We’ll spend time coaching at a fixed spot where paddlers can have multiple goes; we’ll also look at how to coach on the move.

Threaded through all that will be how we manage safety, where to position ourselves and how do we remain true to our own coaching beliefs.

You’ll leave the course with lots of ideas and a detailed plan to help you progress to assessment.
