AIMS
We aim to cover the practical and theoretical elements of the UK Snowsport syllabus, which can be accessed below. This 6-day performance and leader course includes ascending/descending in the backcountry; avalanche avoidance; navigation on skis and emergency procedures amongst other topics.

PRE-REQUISITES
Please note that you will not be allowed to attend the course and will not receive a refund without being confirmed as a registered member of a UK NGB Coaching scheme. You must also hold the Sidecountry Leader Award.
IS IT FOR ME?
The training will be delivered within the Scottish Highlands, based from Glenmore Lodge and will be comprised of a mix of theoretical and practical training. Candidates should attend with a good level of fitness and technique so that they can ski tour/ride proficiently in the harsh and variable Scottish mountain environment throughout the 6 days performance training.
CONTENT
Over the course of the 6 days performance training and the days leadership training we will aim to cover as many areas of the syllabus as possible, conditions and weather dependent. The main overarching themes will be ski/board performance and technique in ascent and descent, ski navigation in the backcountry, avalanche knowledge and skills and emergency procedures.
