Do you want to learn to rock climb outside? If you want to get fit, meet interesting people and spend your free time in beautiful places, then rock climbing is for you. Join this rock climbing course and explore various climbing styles over five days, including trad climbing, bouldering, sport climbing, and multi-pitch climbing. You will also learn the fundamentals of abseiling. The Discover Rock Climbing course is ideal if you have never climbed outside. You will never regret booking a climbing course.
To help you learn the basics and become a competent second on a variety of rock climbs, both single and multi-pitch.
This five-day course is perfect for beginners and indoor wall climbers with limited outdoor climbing experience. You don’t need to have rock climbing experience, but being fit and active would help.
Days one and two are run on a one instructor to four participants (1:4) ratio. This then lowers to an one instructor to two participants (1:2) ratio for day 3,4,5.
This enables the course to be priced competitively while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Meeting your instructor on the first morning gives a chance to talk about your experiences and goals, as well as those of the other participants. This helps the instructor design the program to focus on key topics.

Glenmore Lodge has a large, and very comprehensive store of up to date clothing and equipment. Although we can supply all the equipment you will need, at this level you are encouraged to use your own hill gear including emergency gear, tent, stove etc. (Your instructor will of course want to check that personal equipment is appropriate for the activity).
