Overview
FUNdamentals is the first stage of the Long Term Participant Development (LTPD) model in performance coaching. This model has been adopted by many sports and ‘FUNdamentals’ refers to the important skills required at the optimal training opportunity in a child’s sporting development. The FUNdamentals of Climbing 1 focuses on the important theory and application of the core body movement used in climbing. The workshop also looks at the key principles common to all sports, that of agility, balance and coordination and links this to climbing movement. This is part of the training pathway for the Foundation Coach of the MTUK Coach Awards.
