The Coaching Award Scheme aims to develop coaches with the skills needed to help climbers progress and develop at whatever level they climb at or aspire to.

To attend this course you MUST have; attended a Foundation Coach Training (Or APL), 16+ years of age, safeguarding workshop, valid first aid, MTUK climbing award or site specific validation, up to date D-log and pre-prepared lesson plans.
This half day assessment course is aimed at assistant coaches and is designed to convey all the current best coaching practise in coaching climbing.

The Foundation Coach award is designed to enable coaches to be more effective in the engaging and inspirational delivery of the foundation skills of climbing. The syllabus focuses on three main areas:
Rock Shoes
Chalk Bag
Harness
A means of capturing video (tablet or smart phone etc., for video analysis of performance and capturing ideas you might otherwise forget)
