Scottish Schools Race Returns to Glenmore Lodge

Glenmore Lodge was delighted to once again be able to support local schools taking part in the Scottish Schools Snowsports Association qualifier race.

The Glenmore Lodge campus ski slope has supported many local events in the years prior to Covid. So it was with delight that the team were once again able to host the Scottish Schools Snowsports Association qualifier race, run by the Cairngorm Ski Club. These take place around the country and it is a chance for local primary and secondary students of all abilities, to take part in the event. Students from Carrbridge, Kingussie, Newtonmore and Aviemore took part. The finals will take place in November in Glasgow.

Each year the Scottish Schools Snowsports Association organises more than 30 schools snowsports events in Scotland that attract over 2000 primary and secondary pupils from across the country. These events offer opportunities for all abilities of skier and snowboarder to enjoy and engage in fun, inclusive, individual and team competitions.

Established in 1971, the Scottish Schools Snowsports Association has a long history supporting the development of Scottish snowsports. Over the decades it has provided many exciting opportunities and created countless school champions. Many of these have been inspired by their success and enjoyment of schools skiing and gone on to engage in a lifetime enjoying snowsports. Some have even gone on to represent their country on the world stage.
