This course is aimed at anyone who wants to develop their kayaking skills on grade 2(3) white water. Over the course of the week we’ll help you with your personal paddling, safe river running and rescues on grade 2 rivers, with perhaps the odd grade 3 rapid.

AIMS
This course will provide the paddler with experience of paddling Grade 2(3) rivers.
We hope you’ll leave the course feeling confident to paddle simple rivers with friends.
PRE-REQUISITES
Some experience of white water kayaking on Grade 2 water.
Having completed our “Introduction to White Water Kayaking” course would be ideal.
IS IT FOR ME?
If you want a week of kayaking with plenty of opportunity to hone your white water paddling and develop your confidence on grade 2 (and perhaps the odd grade 3 rapid), this is the course for you.
CONTENT
During this 5 day course we’ll maximize our time paddling on grade 2(3) sections of river. Depending on river levels, sections of the Spey, Tay, Spean and Findhorn are all possibilities.
Whilst on the river we’ll focus on your personal paddling skills; winding your body up and really driving the boat. We’ll build your understanding of the river and how it effects your kayak, so you can anticipate rather than react to it. We’ll also look at safe river running strategies and white water safety and rescue. We aim to help you leave the course feeling confident to paddle a similar grade of river with friends. In the evening we may be able to get in the pool and help you with your roll and rescues.
