AIMS

This course will provide the paddler with plenty of experience paddling a variety of Grade 2/3 rivers, all over the Scottish Highlands. We’ll look at safe river running strategies as we get in plenty of mileage on intermediate white water.

PRE-REQUISITES

Very comfortable on Grade 2 with experience of Grade 3

At least 10 days paddling on Grade 2/3 water.

A reliable white water roll would be a bonus but is not essential for this course.

IS IT FOR ME?

This course is all about putting in the miles, travelling around the Highlands to find the best grade 2/3 rivers.

If you want a week with plenty of Grade 2/3 and are keen to experience the best of Scottish paddling then this is the course for you.

CONTENT

On this course we’ll tour around the Scottish Highlands, seeking out the best grade 2/3 rivers. We’ll start off at Glenmore Lodge, heading over to the West Coast at Inchree for a couple of nights before returning to the Lodge. Depending on water levels and the needs of the group, we might paddle the Roy, Findhorn, Tay, Orchy, Awe, Garry, or Spean. This week is about maximizing our time running the river and less about coaching.

Glenmore Lodge has a purpose made kayak rolling pool which will be available for use in the evening, so if your roll is needing practice we may be able to help you.
