DETAILED INFO

AIMS

This weekend will provide you with experience of paddling a Stand Up Paddleboard on lochs & potentially the coast or rivers.

The two days will focus on safety and rescue, as well as of course developing your personal paddling skills on a Stand Up Paddleboard within different environments. Getting solid Stand Up Paddleboard foundation skills from our top coaches will ensure a lifetime of Stand Up Paddleboard adventures, there is no better way to start.

PRE-REQUISITES

No experience necessary.

IS IT FOR ME?

This weekend is for anybody who is keen to experience and build confidence on a SUP  and to learn how to head out on lochs, rivers and the coast safely. To get the most out of this course you should be water confident, but there is no requirement to have been on a paddleboard before.

If you want two days with plenty of opportunity to learn to paddle a Stand Up Paddleboard in different environments and develop skills to have confidence to journey lochs and moving water, then this is the course for you.

CONTENT

The two days will see you discover some of Scotland’s lochs, rivers and coast line. We’ll choose from the following lochs: Ness, Inch, Morlich and Laggan, or the following rivers: Spey, Tay and Beauly. We may also head to the Moray coast. On the first day we will help you sort out any boards or paddling gear you need to borrow from us. Then we will make use of our local area to start learning the essential skills and develop your confidence in the environment.

For the rest of the time we will paddle the lochs, rivers or coast that offer us the best water and conditions that are appropriate for the group’s needs. This will include lochs in hopefully calm and windier conditions, rivers with Grade 1 and 2, as well as the possibility of coast line in calm conditions.
