This group will be looking to spend one day on a grade 2-3 river and the other in the wind on open water. You could look at techniques and tactics for the loch and the river… or just enjoy being out and about in the different environments that Scotland has to offer.
Alongside your daytime paddling, there’ll be evening drop-in workshops, after-dinner talks, evening shenanigans from our friends at Hou Canoes, the Lochain Bar and a room full of musical instruments if anyone fancies a folk session.
You must also book your accommodation by selecting the accommodation option on the previous event page. Please note that any bookings made without accommodation will be contacted by our Bookings team in due course.
To join this group you’ll have some experience of paddling on open water in wind and some experience of grade 2-3 rapids. Likely venues could include white water sections of the river Spey or the middle Findhorn and local lochs such as Loch Morlich or Loch Insh.
The details are very much up to you, your volunteer coach and the weather.
You could choose to look at driving the boat, edge and angle, breaking in and out, checking and setting, paddling in wind, sailing, tracking or simply enjoy a fun weekend paddling on a Scottish loch and river.
