In this 2 day course we’ll practice the movements which hopefully lead to your first successful kayak roll.

AIMS
During this course we aim to help you build a successful kayak roll from scratch.
We can’t guarantee that you’ll get there, but we can provide two days of quality coaching and leave you with a clear plan and exercises to continue your development.

Confident on and under the water

IS IT FOR ME?
If you’re new to rolling and want to get some solid foundations in place then this is the course for you.
CONTENT
This two day course aims to help you build your roll from scratch.
We’ll spend 2 or 3 sessions in the pool each day, being coached and practising. Whilst in the pool you can make use of our boats and paddles. If you’d prefer to use your own you’re very welcome to.
We’ll spend a good chunk of time making sure you’ve got the foundations in place to allow you to roll; time spent looking at water confidence, edge and rotation, getting used to the movements that we need put together whilst upside down.
We’ll capture plenty of video to help you connect what you’re feeling with what your body is doing. You’re likely to spend much of the course working in pairs, rescuing, observing and giving feedback to each other. This benefits both the observer and the paddler, and gives you the tools to continue developing your roll after the course.
We’ll finish with a review and a clear plan to help you develop your roll.
If you have them, please bring your own nose clips, earplugs and swimming goggles.
