A fantastic opportunity to start a lifelong passion.
There are three goals to this week – Fun, Adventure and progression. It doesn’t matter if you have never climbed, or have been on this course before. This course is all about the experience. Whether it is learning something new, overcoming fear, or just having an awesome time being exposed to the elements in a remote location. We will go to a variety of venues with an aim of developing your climbing in a fun and exciting way. Just make sure you bring some pocket money as there may be an ice cream or two to be had.
At the end of the course you will sit down with the instructors and review the week. This is written down so that if and when you fancy coming on a similar course in the future. We know where we left off.
If the student being booked on one of our U18 courses has a Young Scot card, then they are entitled to a 20% discount on all U18 course prices. Call the office on 01479 861 256 to claim.
The main focus of this five day course is on developing a confident and competent approach to climbing. Most of the course will be based outside with all the climbing action taking place on real rock.
This course is run on a one instructor to two participants ratio (1:2) allowing your instructor to ‘fine tune’ the week to meet participants personal aims and pitch it at a level appropriate to each individual’s stage of development.
PARENTS PLEASE NOTE: These U18’s courses are for young people who are keen on a particular activity.
They’ll receive expert tuition from highly qualified and experienced staff.
The course mirrors the adult ones of the same name, the content and aims are similar but the style is geared towards younger people. We have set a minimum age of 14 and a maximum of 17.
Parents should bear in mind that we have a public bar on the site and that generally Glenmore Lodge is geared towards adult residents. We are not able to provide entertainment and directly supervise the young people throughout the evenings, but staff are available 24 hours to deal with problems.
Glenmore Lodge holds a current Adventure Activities License.
Meeting your instructor on the first morning provides an opportunity to discuss your experience and aspirations enabling the instructor to plan the program around the main topics to be covered. Some of these are:
