WEMSI First Responder

WEMSI is a unique organisation delivering courses in pre-hospital emergency care. The Faculty is made up of highly experienced doctors, paramedics, ambulance technicians, climbers, paddlers, skiers…..explorers and adventurers! Each year they come together from all over the world and volunteer their time to provide a high staff-to-student ratio course that aims to equip students with knowledge and practical skills that will help prepare them for patient care in a remote environment. Each course has a very high practical content using realistic scenarios, patients and make-up that build in complexity as the course progresses; all theory sessions are delivered by specialists in their field, making WEMSI courses both challenging and unique. All our courses have an element of on-going assessment.

The First Responder course is designed for people who are going to be working in a remote setting looking after themselves or others. Although this is the first of the WEMSI courses there is still a requirement for participants to hold a basic two day first aid certificate prior to attendance.
