A 16 hour, practical, scenario based course designed as an introduction to first aid in an outdoor or remote environment. The course is very practical and the Trainer uses a mixture of outdoor scenarios to simulate injuries found in a variety of outdoor incidents. During these scenarios, you experience being a first responder and a casualty giving a more rounded learning experience.
Assessment: Continuous throughout the course with a multiple choice paper.
Certification: A BASP Outdoor Emergency First Aid certificate valid for 3 years.
This is a non-residential, 2-day course.
To train individuals in basic first aid in an outdoor and remote environment.
We train candidates to be Safe, Confident Responders by the end of their course.
Suitable for outdoor professionals looking for an NGB recognised certificate and for outdoor enthusiasts looking to equip themselves for their chosen activities. Ideal for those who want a ‘hands on’ practical course.
Recognised by all UK National Governing Body Awards, Ski Patrol, Mountain Rescue and Bike Patrol.
Courses normally start at 9am and finish at approximately 5pm. Please note this course requires a certain amount of physical activity and you will need to demonstrate CPR techniques from the floor in a group environment.

Packed lunches are collected before the start of the course each day.
We have changing areas, showers and left luggage facilities on site
All courses will finish by 5pm
We will do some outdoor scenarios in the Lodge grounds. You will need appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear; boots, waterproof jacket, waterproof trousers (which are likely to get dirty and wet), hat, gloves, head net, midge repellent (as they can be bad in the summer).
