The courses will only be delivered by Velotech approved instructors who have extensive mechanical and biking skills. This course is intended for experienced bike mechanics looking to develop. The Platinum course deals with key areas: Frame Preparation Wheel Building Hydraulic Systems
The course consists of three days of training with an on-going practical assessment element. The aim would be that you would leave at the end of the three days having passed the criteria needed to achieve the award. There is ongoing practical assessment throughout the course as well as a multiple choice question paper.

• experienced bike mechanics who are supervising the ongoing maintenance of a fleet of bikes
• those that want to develop their work in a Bike shop as a mechanic
• enthusiastic bikers looking to work on their own bikes
• MTB Leaders / Coaches looking to formalise their knowledge and certify them to work on clients bikes Candidates must hold the Velotech Gold award or equivalent prior to attending the course.

We have a purpose built teaching workshop ready for your course. This is equipped with all that is needed to facilitate all aspects of the syllabus. We can also supply all PPE for you including workshop aprons, gloves and barrier cream. We also supply all consumables needed to coach and assess you through the process. However, we do not carry a stock of components with which to service your own bike. We aim to work on bikes supplied by us. These bikes will enable us to work through all the key principles and systems required. For Velotech Gold/Platinum it may be interesting to bring along a bike with any unusual components on it for the purposes of discussion (this is NOT essential)
