British Canoeing Performance & Leadership courses at Glenmore Lodge
Personal Performance awards
From 2019 we’ll be providing the new British Canoeing personal performance awards. They represent a big change in approach from the previous star awards, with less formal assessment and an acceptance that different paddlers will paddle differently.
The awards provide acknowledgment of your personal skill level in your chosen craft in your environment. Direct entry is available to all the personal performance awards. They stand separately from the leadership and coaching qualifications and are not pre-requisites for either scheme.
There’s much more information available at https://www.britishcanoeingawarding.org.uk/new-personal-performance-awards/
We are offering specific courses for these awards, and where appropriate, the opportunity to gain them as part of our skills courses.
As the name suggests, these awards provide evidence of your ability to look after other people; ensuring their safety whilst providing support when they need it and challenge when they want it.
In order to do this you will need to develop an appropriate level of personal performance, safety, rescue and leadership skills.
