MTA Winter CPD Option 2 - Non Residential Weekend Package

Qualification Level - 2 days

Glenmore Lodge is hosting the MTA Winter CPD Weekend on the 26th – 27th January 2019.

This weekend has a range of CPD Workshops for members of the Mountain Training Association. It is an ideal opportunity to develop, refresh and learn new skills and meet like-minded members. Stay residentially for the full weekend experience or book a non residential weekend package.  If you are not already a member, join here

See the full list of workshops on the detailed information page. All workshops are staffed by instructors who work at the National Centre or are leading experts in their field and the weekend will accrue 1 CPD point per day.

Is It For Me?

With both the residential weekend and the non residential weekend options you can book onto any of the below workshops on both the Saturday and Sunday.

1 workshop per day.

Workshops will run 0900 – 1700hrs on the specified days below. If a particular workshop has very low bookings it may not run and you will be offered an alternative. Members will be awarded 1 CPD point per day.

Working in Winter 

Saturday evening programme:

The weekend is for MTA members only.

What Will I Need?

Please where possible provide your own equipment, however if you do need to borrow anything our stores it will be open on Friday from 1930 to 2000 hours and on Saturday and Sunday from 0830 to 0915. All equipment must be returned to stores no later than 1730 on the Sunday.

What’s included on your course

  • Shuttle bus to Glenmore Lodge (departs Aviemore station 5:20pm on Friday and Sundays)
  • Packed lunch and afternoon tea each day

Arriving at Glenmore Lodge

  • Your first inclusive meal is breakfast (7:45 -8:30am) An evening meal is not provided on your arrival night, but bar meals are available in our Lochain bar 5pm to 9pm (5-7pm on Mondays and Tuesdays)
  • Packed lunches are collected at breakfast
  • On Mondays and Saturdays only there will be a 10 minute welcome talk at 8.15am, on other days you will meet your instructor at 9am. The daily programme of your course will be discussed with your instructor when you first meet, taking into account aspirations and prevailing weather conditions

On your last day

  • Check out time is 10am on the final day of your booking, we have changing areas, showers and left luggage facilities on site
  • All courses will finish by 5pm
  • On Fridays and Sundays we offer a drop off to Aviemore station, leaving Glenmore Lodge at 5pm, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance if you would like to book this service
