The BCAB Core Coach Training course is open to any young people aged 18 and under who want to help other paddlers get better. In essence, it’s about how we change what we do, to make it work for the people we’re coaching.
The Core Coach Training aims to give coaches the tools to plan and adapt their coaching sessions, so that they work for the people they’re coaching.
To participate in this course you need to be aged 18 or under on the date of the course. You also need to be a Junior or Full member of the Paddle Scotland (or another National Association)
To join the SCA go to Scottish Canoe Association Membership (canoescotland.org)
This two day course is open to any young person who has an interest in coaching paddlers.
A discounted rate is available for SCA members that are living in Scotland: £97.20pp for a non-residential place and £133.20pp for a residential place. To access this rate please call the Glenmore Lodge office on 01479 861256.
This 2 day course is for young paddlers who are working towards becoming a BCAB Coach. We’ll paddle a variety of craft, looking at the aspects of coaching that remain the same whatever boat you’re in.
On day 1 we’ll spend our time bouncing between between the classroom and the pond. We’ll chat through new coaching ideas before putting them into practice out on the water. We’ll work on into the evening on day 1, setting you up to plan your own coaching session.
Day 2 is a shorter day where you’ll run a coaching session. We can choose to stay on site or travel to a local loch. At the end of the day we’ll give you a clear plan to help you progress towards the coach award in your chosen craft.
Moving on from the Core Coach Training, we provide a broad range of coach training and assessment courses which you can find at https://www.glenmorelodge.org.uk/paddlesports/coaching/
