Scottish Tooling Series 2009
The Scottish dry tooling series is back for its second year running! Last year the competition was a huge success and we promise that this year will be even better.
In addition to the five venues we had last year Inverness Leisure are joining us. The format of each event will be unique to the host venue but scoring will be standardised across the whole series.
Each venue will host a final on the day and at the last event the overall series winners will be announced.
Routes are set to provide a challenge for experienced climbers as well as those looking to try out tooling for the first time.
Booking in advance is recommended as there are a limited number of spaces available at each venue. Some venues will accept booking on the day but you will not be guaranteed a place and will have to pay an extra £5.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

Avertical World, Dundee – 3rd October
EICA: Ratho, Edinburgh – 24th October
Inverness Leisure, Inverness – 7th November

Each venue will host a one day Tooling Competition. There will be a winner for each category at each event. After the last event the Scottish Series will be won by the person in each category, who has entered a minimum of three competitions and accumulated the most points.

Scoring may vary slightly from venue to venue but generally all competitors will have 3 attempts at each route…10 points for completion on first attempt
For longer routes; specifically at the ice-factor on ice routes, only one attempt is permitted. Points will be awarded for height gained.
Official Scottish Tooling Series 2009 t-shirts will be available in limited supply at the venues on the day. Produced by Gumbi Gear www.gumbigear.co.uk
