This course is suitable for potential outdoor instructors, or enthusiasts and any person who has been awakened to the necessity of life saving skills in sudden illness or accidents.
The course is aimed at mountain rescue team members and full-time outdoor instructors. It will involve specifically some discussion of pain relief management and is intended to give as much practical experience as possible.
Suitable for those working in industry or outdoor education that require a First Aid at Work certificate for their work. Additional specialized content will be included to meet the needs of clients whose candidates work in specific areas.
Designed to revaildate the 3 day First Aid at Work course it must be completed within the 3 year time limit on the certificate.
2-day foundation course for overseas travellers included treating injuries and illnesses with prescription medications. Also consider combining Far From Help with Far From Help Part 2 for a truly gold standard course in expedition medicine for lay people. WMT-Advanced Medicine
2-day top up & revalidation course for WMT alumni including suturing wounds, injections & intravenous fluids.Also forms the refresher course for the 4 day Advanced course.
4 day course including the diagnosis and treatment of injuries and illness conditions as one would experience in remote, foreign places, including diarrhoea and acute mountain sickness, plus how to suture wounds, give injections, use intravenous fluids and more.
Stand-alone course aimed doctors, nurses and other health professionals. Covers the most important medical skills and knowledge required for managing high, hot and cold environmental medical problems, improvised rescue, basic rope work and radio communications.
The Exped Medic course plus 3 days of activity training, climbing, mountain walking & canoeing. We aim to cover important safety aspects of the activities, and introduce the commonly used equipment that you might come across as well as some emergency scenarios.
The First Responder certificate is growing in reputation as a global standard in training. The Wilderness First Responder Course includes the First Responder Syllabus and applies it to remote situations including protracted care issues.
