Winter Fest on Cairngorm Mountain with Mountain Spirit
WINTER FEST 1ST MARCH 2008 Mountain Spirit in conjunction with our sponsors will host the first Winter Fest on the 1st of March 2008 on Cairngorm Mountain.
This is your chance to Test the latest Skis from brands such as Salomon, Rossignol, G3, Naxo, Crispi and Scarpa and Movement free of charge and with no obligation. A credit card and form of ID such as a driver’s licence will be needed for security reasons.
We will be bringing together all the other Snow sports disciplines such as Alpine, Telemark, Ski Mountaineering and Cross Country Skiing. There will also be professional guiding and instructional clinics ran throughout the day provided by The Ski School, Glenmore Lodge, and G2.
A ski event such as this wouldn’t be complete without a fun competitive element to it, so why not test the skills you’ve learnt in the clinics and enter yourself into the Telemark/Alpine Dual Slalom or the 2km ski Mountaineering comp.
To round the day off we will be having some Après ski at the newly refurbished Wood Shed bar Coylumbridge, where you will be welcome to join us for the evening enjoying some live music provided by the Wood Shed and where prizes will be awarded to the winner’s of the Slalom and the Ski Mountaineering Comp.
So come along and have some fun and support Scottish skiing and have a truly great day out. DEMO TENTS: Open from 9.30 am till 16.00hrs
LOCATION OF DEMO TENTS: Beside Ptarmigan Building

Marmot designers brave Scottish climate
Tuesday, February 19, 2008
You may remember a few weeks back when we had inches of snow and gale force winds...that was when Jeff Blakely from Marmot came to visit our team and get some feedback on rucksack design. He had been warned about the Scottish climate as he lives in California and they don't do bad weather. Well he got it in force and it felt like a full on adventure just getting to the top of Meil of Buechile - can't speel and no time to look it up -
sSo thanks to Jeff for taking the time and hopefully the team have given you all the feedback you need to keep making designing some great kit.

Curry Powder in Gulmarg!
Ian has arraived home safe and sount from a 2 week powder dream in Gulmarg. Those of you who saw Ski Sunday will have seen that the he did a great run under the upper lift but that was all. Appaerently he has done the area a huge injustice by not showing all the other powder runs available and our team had fresh tracks nearly every day!
These tv programmes need to send out real adventurers like the Glenmore Lodgites!
Putting up Ian pics on the photo gallery this week.
He is now off ot the Alps for some more ski touring ............its a hard life instructing!

Sheffield Adventure Film Festival

Sheffield Adventure Film Festival
We're less than three weeks away now from ShAFF... The films are all ready, the programmes are printed, the judges are busy judging, and the tickets are selling nicely. If you haven't done so already, check out the film selection wizard on the website which will help you make the best use of your time and book your tickets at the Box Office. It promises to be a great weekend. Don't forget:
100% of 2006 and 2007 visitors to ShAFF said they would come again and reccommend it to a friend.
