Adventure in Malawi is there for the taking......
Tuesday, May 06, 2008
Ever fancied exploring the rock face and mountains of Africa? Tiyende Pamodzi is a locally run outdoor adventure company based at the foot of the Mulanje Massif in Malawi. Mount Mulanje has the longest continuous rock face (1.7km) on the whole African continent, and a range of 23 peaks (highest at 3,017m) set in magnificent park land, protecting the endangered Mulanje cedar and the plentiful bird and animal life. Mount Mulanje is one of the largest examples of granite inselbergs in the world, and this distinctive isolated block of hard rock affords impressive views of the surrounding plains.
Tiyende Pamodzi Adventures runs hiking, climbing and cultural tours on the mountain, and Glenmore Lodge are happy to support their project in the form of training and equipment so they can expand their operation to inspire adventure in Malawi.
If you're interested in climbing or hiking in Malawi, would like to get involved in supporting the outdoor business in Malawi, or just checking us out, take a look at http://www.cholemalawi.com/pamodzi.htm. Or speak to Alice Jenner on 07825 448 582.
